    Genesis

    PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Tinsukia was established in 1985 and initially functioned from a temporary building. In 2009, the Vidyalaya was shifted to its own newly constructed building at Raja Ali Road, Nau-Pukhri, Tinsukia, Assam – 786125. It is approximately 1.3 km from Tinsukia Bus Stand, 2 km from Tinsukia Railway Station and 39.9 km from Dibrugarh Airport.

    The Vidyalaya is a Civil Sector Vidyalaya under Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Ministry of Education, Government of India, and is affiliated with KVS Regional Office Tinsukia. It offers education from Classes I to XII, with two sections up to Class VIII and Science and Commerce streams at the Senior Secondary level. The present enrollment is approximately 893 students.

    The Vidyalaya is equipped with smart classrooms, computers and ICT facilities, science laboratories, a mathematics laboratory, library, Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL), sports facilities, and facilities for art and music. These facilities support academic, technological, creative and co-curricular learning.

    In 2023, the Vidyalaya was accorded PM SHRI (PM Schools for Rising India) status. Under the PM SHRI programme, the Vidyalaya promotes experiential and competency-based learning, innovation, skill development, technology integration and environmental awareness, in alignment with NEP 2020. Students participate in Science and Innovation activities, exhibitions, sports, cultural programmes, Youth Parliament, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, NCC, Scout & Guide activities and other co-curricular programs.

    The Vidyalaya Management Committee is headed by Shri Parag Katre, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Tinsukia Division, as its Chairman. With its dedicated staff, modern facilities, and active student participation, PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Tinsukia strives to provide quality education and opportunities for the all-round development of its students.
